FAQs

  • Tell me about your limited editions…
Jonathan selects the number of prints offered of each image. All limited edition artworks are titled, signed, and numbered. Each print will also include two (2) Artist Proofs (AP) at each size to manage quality of the prints sold.

Most of Jonathan’s editions number between 3 and 9. For example, in a limited run of 7 prints at 16” x 24”, once 7 prints are sold to collectors, that print will no longer be available directly from Jonathan at that size. Images may still be used in publications and press for marketing and other promotional purposes of Jonathan’s work.

What edition number will I receive when I purchase a limited edition artwork?
When a limited edition artwork is purchased, the next available edition number is automatically selected. The editions start at #1 until the end of the edition. If you are interested in what number in the edition is next available for a specific print, please e-mail gallery@jonathanknight.net.

  • How do I hang the french cleat?
The work is hung using a wood French cleat system for a flush presentation against the wall. The two pre-drilled holes on the cleat are 16” apart, meant to be hung using the studs inside your drywall. Alternatively, you may be able to use other wall anchor screws directly into other materials.

    1) Mark and measure the center of the back of the work. Using the center mark as a guide, mark a level line to depict the location of the top of the cleat.

    2) Mark a level line on the wall where you’d like to hang the item. Drill pilot holes and hammer in wall anchors.

    3) Install another cleat to the wall. Place the item flush against the wall, slightly above the wall cleat, and slide it down to interlock the two cleats.

How do I clean my artwork?
Caution should be used whe it is necessary to clean the surface of your artwork—damage can be done. Dust the picture acrylic with a soft, dry cloth, microfiber cloth. Apply very light pressure. Canned air can also be used to remove dust and small particles. Ensure your cloth is clean. Do not use window cleaning sprays such as Windex, kitchen scouring compounds, or solvents. Surface scratches might be able to be buffed out using a small amount of water on a microfiber cloth.

  • How does limited edition pricing work?
The edition size is based on print size. If the edition is 7, there will never be more than 7 prints made of that image at that size.
